President Biden to visit Boulder County to see damage from Marshall Fire

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- President Joe Biden will be visiting Colorado this Friday to tour the damage from the Marshall Fire, which decimated hundreds of homes last week in Boulder County.

Rep. Joe Neguse announced Biden's visit on Wednesday, saying he and Gov. Jared Polis will host the president to discuss "urgently needed federal support."

FEMA funds have been made available for victims in the wake of the fire, which started last Thursday and quickly spread through Superior and Louisville. The fire has been labeled Colorado's most destructive wildfire.

"I’m deeply grateful to President Biden and his Administration for authorizing a swift Disaster Declaration this past weekend to begin the flow of federal funds to our community, and I look forward to hosting him on the ground on Friday to share firsthand the powerful stories of Boulder County’s resilience and strength,” Rep. Neguse said in a statement Wednesday.
