Colorado officer wounded by suspect who turned and fired

LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) — Police in suburban Denver say a police officer was wounded by a man who turned and fired a gun at him multiple times as the officer pursued him. The police chief in Littleton said Tuesday that the officer was wearing body armor and was is serious but stable condition. He said the wounded officer and a second officer fired back at the suspect but it’s not known if he was hit. The man was able to get away as the second officer worked to rescue the wounded one. The shootings happened after police tried to contact people suspected of firing shots from a vehicle.
