Victim in Colorado Springs flea market stabbing identified

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Coroner identified the victim in a deadly stabbing that happened at a flea market.

September 5, Colorado Springs Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Colorado Springs Flea Market. At the scene, officers found a man who had been stabbed.

He was taken to a hospital, but police say he died from his injuries.

Detectives with CSPD's Violent Crime Section took over the investigation. Several witnesses, including the person who stabbed the man, were interviewed.

However, no one was taken into custody.

According to the coroner, the victim was 57-year-old Kenneth Cawood.

CSPD says Cawood's death is the 22nd homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs so far in 2021. This time last year, there were 25 homicides.
