Mobile flower truck business in full bloom in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- What makes you happy? It was Shannon Cordovano asking herself that question that led to the creation of the Orange Blossom Flower Truck.
“In December of 2020, I decided 2021 was going to be different," said Cordovano. "I sort of spur of the moment quit my job, and didn’t have a clue what I was going to do.”
Though Cordovano didn't have a clue what she wanted to do, she did know what she loved: flowers.
“The whole flower idea sort of morphed from the San Francisco sidewalk vendors, and the carts you see in New York, and the markets you see in Europe," said Cordovano.
With some fearlessness, grit, and an old Volkswagen from California, the Orange Blossom Flower Truck was born.
All of the truck’s flowers are from local vendors and are made into customized bouquets depending on your budget. The truck rotates between the Promenade at Briargate and Downtown on Tejon Street.
Cordovano said no matter where her little orange truck is, it brings with it a whole lot of beauty, and a whole lot of joy.
“It’s a joy to come to work every single day, I look forward to it, it terrifies me," said Cordovano. "We had somebody just stop by this morning to take pictures just because it made them smile. If I do that for a living, holy moly, how lucky am I?”
The Orange Blossom Flower Truck is at the Promenade Shoppes at Briargate Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and downtown on Tejon Street on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
