Colorado Springs police: man accidentally shoots himself after minor car accident

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man is in the hospital after accidentally shooting himself during a reported confrontation in Downtown Colorado Springs.

According to police, around 9 p.m. there was a minor collision between a truck and a motorcycle near E. Platte Ave. and E. Boulder St.

The two pulled over into a parking lot, and at some point during that confrontation, the driver of the truck fired a shot and accidentally hit himself.

Police say the driver was rushed to a local hospital. The motorcyclist was not hit.
