MGN

LA JUNTA, Colo. (KRDO) -- A child is fighting for their life after being thrown from a vehicle that crashed just north of La Junta.

The Colorado State Patrol says the child was in the car with a 30-year-old man who was driving on Colorado 194. The driver drove off the north side of the road and rolled the car multiple times. The child was ejected from the car and suffered serious injuries. CSP says the child was transported to the hospital by helicopter and the man was also taken to the hospital.

CSP is now investigating this crash.

The child was obviously not properly restrained, or they could not have been ejected. And you can bet that the driver was also not restrained. This is the reason why adults need to be trained to use seatbelts themselves so they also properly restrain any kids in a vehicle with them.
