Colorado State Patrol: eastbound I-70 through Glenwood Canyon remains closed after massive crash
GLENWOOD CANYON, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado State Patrol says eastbound I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is expected to be closed overnight while crews work to clear a massive crash.
According to CSP, the crash happened at 12 p.m. Friday. The crash had traffic backed up for miles until crews eventually shutdown I-70 at mile marker 109, Canyon Creek.
CSP says the driver of a semi had to be cut out with the jaws of life by Glenwood Fire. The driver, a 54-year-old, was flown by helicopter to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
As of 10 p.m., Friday I-70 eastbound remained closed with no change to the original estimate time of re-open, which was twelve hours after the initial crash.
