Two climbers rescued after illegally climbing at Cathedral Spires: Garden of the Gods

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Firefighters were called to Garden of the Gods Thursday when two people, who were climbing illegally, got stuck.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to 2857 Juniper Way at 3:49 p.m., near the Cathedral Spires, after reports of two people stuck on the rocks.

At the scene, crews found one adult man and one juvenile boy stranded 40 feet in the air on the rocks. They were both climbing illegally and were unable to get down on their own.

Crews managed to lower both down safely and no injuries were reported.

CSFD reminds people to please enjoy parks responsibly and follow the rules.
