Driver seriously injured in Saguache crash

MGN

A driver is fighting for their life after their pick-up truck skidded off the side of Highway 285 in Saguache County this morning.

State Patrol says the black Dodge pick-up pulling a small trailer was headed northbound on Highway 285 when it ran off the left side of the road and collided with a rock embankment. It then skidded back onto the highway and eventually off the right side, rolling down another embankment.

The driver, who CSP says was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck and into a barb wire fence. The pickup rolled across the fence and came to a rest.

The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs with serious injuries. This is a developing story. Stay with KRDO.com for updates.
