One man in hospital after shooting near Citadel Mall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A shooting near the Citadel Mall sent one man to the hospital Thursday evening.

According to police, the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m.

Although the exact location of the shooting is still under investigation, police say the victim ran inside one of the mall stores asking for help after being shot.

CSPD says they later detained several people believed to be connected to the shooting. However, it's unclear if they are facing any charges.

Witnesses say the victim was shot in the leg.

CSPD says the man was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
