One man in custody after daytime shooting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A shooting in broad daylight left one man hurt in Colorado Springs Wednesday.

Officers were called to a parking lot near North Carefree Circle and Peterson Road for reports of a shooting around 12:15 Wednesday afternoon. Police found one person who was suffering from a minor abrasion in the middle of his chest after being shot. He was later transported to a local hospital and was shortly released after.

Police said a suspect drove off in a blue Toyota Tundra. The vehicle was later found and a semi-automatic pistol was found inside. Officers took Alexie Gomez, 26, into custody for his role in the shooting. Investigators said Gomez and the person who was shot knew each other.
