ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KRDO) -- Denver Broncos Charities announced Thursday it's donating $156,500 to 31 organizations and nonprofits.

This is part of their third annual Broncos Community Grant Program.

Launched in 2019, the program offers up to $10,000 to Colorado-based nonprofits and organizations that request necessary funding for community projects and programs.

Denver Broncos Charities says the selected organizations encompass all five of the Broncos' community development focus areas - Youth Development, Quality of Life, Health & Wellness, Youth Football, and Civic Engagement.

Additionally, grant funding will go towards localized and statewide initiatives that focus on issues and communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, including immediate and basic needs, communities of color, women, domestic violence and sexual assault services, food security, and mental health.

Two of the organizations that received funding are in Southern Colorado. The Cañon City Recreation and Park District, a youth football helmet replacement and refurbishment organization, and Maroon Pride, an organization that updates football uniforms and equipment at Alamosa High School.

Since its inception, the Community Grant Program has donated $457,200 to 82 different organizations.
