Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office collecting unwanted prescription drugs August 24

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is collecting unwanted prescription drugs for the annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

On Saturday, April 24, the deputies will be at three locations taking any unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The drugs are accepted anonymously, they will be disposed of in a safe manner, and this service is free.

These are the following drop off locations:

  • Pueblo County Sheriff's Office West Sub-Station, 320 Joe Martinez Blvd
  • Pueblo Rural Fire Station, 29912 U.S. Highway 50 E.
  • Valley Health Mart Pharmacy, 4493 Bent Brothers Blvd. Colorado City.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day was started by the Drug Enforcement Administration to get unused prescription drugs out of homes to prevent any misuse or abuse.
