El Paso County struggles to fill vaccine appointments

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Less than 24 hours before El Paso County Public Health's vaccine clinic opened in Fountain, officials were urging people to sign up for an appointment.

The lack of people signing up for the COVID-19 vaccine came just two days after Colorado opened up vaccine eligibility to everyone over the age of 16.

The health department was eventually able to fill the appointments for its Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinic that started at 9:30 Monday.
