Construction to begin on new project with Peak Innovation Park

Intergroup Architects

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Construction is set to start this weekend at the Peak Technology Campus located within Peak Innovation Park, just outside of the Colorado Springs Airport.

The Campus joins some pretty big names at the park, including the Amazon Delivery Center and the Aerospace Corporation.

The Colorado Springs Airport is providing the space for the building, but it isn’t costing the city anything. It’s being paid for by the investment company Flywheel Capital, LLC.

The Peak Technology campus will provide the most up to date technology systemas, and be the closest available place to lease to both Peterson and Schriever Air Force Bases.

It sits within the business sector of Peak Innovation Park, and is expected to generate even more economic opportunity for the $7 billion aerospace and defense industries.

“We estimate that within the year there will be literally several thousand people working in the business park," said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for the Colorado Springs Airport. "We have not one, not two, but three Amazon facilities either already under construction or being built."

Construction is expected to start this weekend on the Peak Technology Campus. It’s said to be the largest project to break ground in Colorado Springs in a decade.
