Historic Colorado Springs Train Depot introduces new safe way to celebrate NYE

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Train Depot behind the Antlers hotel is ringing in the new year in a trendy and safe way this year.

This New Year's Eve, you can welcome 2021 inside an igloo with your loved ones. This is a new and innovative way for many to celebrate while practicing safe COVID-19 guidelines.

Inside the igloo you can find a bluetooth speaker, so you can play any music you'd like and also stay warm because inside there is heater.
The maximum amount of people allowed in each igloo is six-eight.
There is a limited amount for the New Year's Eve celebration, but the good news is this will be available throughout the new year.

After being vacant for ten years, the old train depot just right behind the antler’s hotel in Downtown Colorado Springs is now the home of three new restaurants…and certainly it has been a challenging year

But it’s been a long time coming. The Ochs family has owned the building since 1971, longer than General Palmer.
However- the project of the three new restaurants has been in the works for the past 2 years. The three restaurants include, Brakeman's Burger, Track 10, and the Sandwich shop

Though a bit challenging though the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing new ideas like igloos has given them an advantage.
“It has helped increase our sales, we are still early into it, people are still discovering us so we will find out how popular they are, but right now when I come down and look outside, they are full," shared Charles Ochs, owner of the three new restaurants at the Old Depot.
