Funeral homes and challenges with the virus

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The updated COVID-19 health guidelines classify funerals as essential services, but how are they adjusting?

The Springs Funeral Services says they are adding staff within the next month to help them with the surge they are anticipating.

According to The Springs Funeral Services, they saw a 40 percent increase in deaths this season, all COVID-19 related. The pressure on the staff to attend to families of those hurting is stressful.

According to Paul Wood, Funeral Director at this funeral home, they just want people to do their part in order to slow down the spread of the virus. They anticipate January to be their biggest month yet.
