Southbound North Academy Boulevard closed in Colorado Springs after fatal car vs pedestrian accident
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- All southbound lanes of North Academy Boulevard between East San Miguel Street and East Uintah Street closed Friday night after a fatal car accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Police say the call came in around 6:23 p.m. Friday of a man having been hit by a vehicle.
CSP says the driver did remain at the scene and they do not believe excessive speed or alcohol is a factor.
Colorado Springs Police say the lanes will be blocked for the next few hours while investigators work on the scene.
Officers are asking drivers to avoid the area. This is an ongoing story and will be updated as more information comes in.
