Pueblo shoppers will be joined by COVID-19 inspectors on Black Friday

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- On Black Friday, Pueblo health officials will be inspecting retailers throughout the community, making sure they are playing by the COVID-19 rules.

Pueblo County is currently under Safer at Home: Level Red COVID-19 restrictions. Retailers, both critical and non-critical, are limited to 50% capacity within their stores. The crowds must abide by social distancing guidelines as well.

All retailers must have a mechanism to gauge the amount of people entering a facility, enforce mask wearing, and exclude people not wearing a mask.

It is unclear what kind of punishment retailers could face should they chose to ignore the guidelines or restrictions.

KRDO will be speaking with one of these inspectors with further details. Full story will air tonight at 6 pm.
