Republican Doug Lamborn keeps 5th Congressional District seat

LAMBORN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Republican Doug Lamborn retained Colorado's 5th Congressional District seat.

The Associated Press projected Lamborn's victory over Democratic challenger Jillian Freeland.

This marks the beginning of Lamborn's eighth term in Congress. He was first elected in 2006.

Lamborn won 56% of the votes counted by 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
