Colorado Springs Police search for suspect after shooting victim arrives at hospital

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department is searching for a man who may have shot another man Wednesday night.

Officers responded to Memorial Hospital just before 10 p.m. after the victim had been dropped off by a Good Samaritan. The victim told officers that he was walking home in the area of Astrozon and Aerotech when he was confronted by the suspect. The victim says the suspect displayed a gun and demanded that he empty out his pockets, threatening to shoot him.

The victim says he was shot in the leg as he tried to run off. He then flagged down a passing motorist who drove him to the hospital. The victim's injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Officers searched the scene of the alleged crime and did not find any evidence. They're searching for a man who was wearing all black clothing with a black snapback hat and a black face covering.
