Men connected to case of missing KY woman possibly hiding in El Paso County
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is searching for two men who failed to register as sex offenders in Colorado because they're believed to be connected to the disappearance of a Kentucky woman.
Brendan Camous, 27, and Clinton Peterson, 29, are both people of interest in the 2016 missing person case of Lori Feltz, KRDO crews confirmed Friday.
Feltz was 58 years old and suffering from a traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and severe memory loss when she went for a routine walk through her family's property the day after Christmas, according to the local ABC station WTVQ. She has not been seen since, despite countless searches of the area.
Camous and Peterson were living in a shack nearby in Nicholas County at the time. When deputies were searching the area, they ran across the two men and didn't make any connection to the missing person, or know they were wanted, until later. When deputies returned later with a search warrant, the two men were gone, WTVQ reports.
Camous has two felony and one misdemeanor arrest warrants for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Failure to Comply with a Sex Assault on a Child Sentence, and Failure to Appear on a Driving Under the Influence charge.
Peterson has three felony and one misdemeanor arrest warrants for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Failure to Comply with Probation.
Neither of the suspects have known addresses or associated vehicles. Both are believed to be homeless and possibly living in shacks in El Paso or Teller counties, or in northeastern Colorado areas, according to deputies.
Camous and Peterson are considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information about their whereabouts or any information related to this incident, you're asked to contact the sheriff's tip line at 719-520-6666, or email Tips@elpasoco.com.
