Serious motorcycle crash closes Highway 96 in Pueblo County

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a serious motorcycle crash on Highway 96 that left two people injured Wednesday evening.

Trooper say two people were riding on a motorcycle on Highway 96 when a deer ran in front of them. The two occupants were thrown off the motorcycle, sustaining serious injuries. One of the riders was wearing a helmet while the other was not, according to CSP.

Paramedics transported the two occupants to a nearby hospital as troopers closed the road in both directions. As of 9:30 p.m., the highway was open in both directions again.

  1. Damn it, don’t these deer keep an eye out for motorcyclists… They should know that with the changing weather, that there will be more Motorcycles on the road, and they need to be more cautious and WATCH OUT FOR RIDERS…
