COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police are investigating a car crash Friday afternoon that killed one person in Colorado Springs.

Officers responded just before 2 p.m. to reports of a traffic incident at the intersection of Murray Boulevard and Palmer Park.

Police say a black sedan was traveling southbound on Murray to enter the intersection. A blue pickup truck was eastbound on Palmer Park and made a right turn into the passenger side read of the sedan.

The pickup rolled on its side, partially ejecting the driver. The black sedan was pushed eastbound and crashed into the side of a home on the corner.

Police say the driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital for treatment but he passed away from his severe injuries. The driver of the sedan had minor injuries when he crashed into the unoccupied home.

The Colorado Springs Police Department says it will release the identity of the deceased driver once the next of kin is notified.
