I-70 reopens following wildfire closure

GLENWOOD CANYON, Colo. (KRDO) - Interstate 70 reopened in both directions between Glenwood Springs and Gypsum Monday morning.

I-70 closed back on Monday, August 10 due to the Grizzly Creek Fire. The fire began burning along the interstate prompting the closure.

Travelers should prepare for intermittent closures on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon due to Grizzly Creek Fire repairs.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says drivers should also prepare for reduced speeds and allow for additional time on the road.

CDOT urges drivers to stay focused on the road and avoid distracted driving.
