Colorado Springs Stein Mart to close permanently

STEIN MART Cropped

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Stein Mart announced it will be closing all of its stores by the end of the year.

The closing sales have begun at the Colorado Springs Stein Mart location and the four other locations around the state.

The company says the decision to close was due to the challenging retail environment and the impact of COVID-19.

All Stein Mart stores are advertising up to 30% off the lowest ticketed price.

Stein Mart gift cards must be used by September 12. Merchandise purchased prior to August 12 can be returned through September 12.

There's no word yet on how many jobs will be lost due to the closure.

This comes as more retailers are closing due to COVID-19. Colorado Springs has seen Gordman's, Pier 1 and The Children's Place close their doors permanently.
