Crash hancock expressway

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A driver in Colorado Springs was cited Thursday afternoon after hitting four pedestrians, two of which were children.

Around 5:20 p.m., first responders were dispatched to an auto-pedestrian accident near Hancock Expressway and Delta Drive. Police say a vehicle traveling southbound made a left turn onto eastbound Hancock Expressway and struck four pedestrians in the crosswalk.

Several good Samaritans who witnessed the accident immediately began assisting the victims, according to police. Paramedics took the adult patients to a nearby hospital for serious bodily injury. The minor patients were treated at the Children's Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for careless driving after failing to yield to pedestrians at a crosswalk, resulting in injury.
