COVID-19 outbreak closes Canon City veterinary clinic for 2 weeks

CANON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A veterinary clinic in Canon City has been closed for the next two weeks due to COVID-19 exposure, the Fremont County Department of Public Health announced on Monday.

Two staffers at the Rose Veterinary Hospital of Canon City tested positive for the coronavirus, and now the clinic will be closed until Aug. 17.

Public health officials in Fremont County said they're working to identify people who may have been exposed to COVID-19 from the clinic.

A statement from Rose Veterinary Hospital said they have been in contact with the health department and are following all instructions and guidelines given by them.

Free COVID-19 testing is available from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the FCDPHE building, 201 N. 6th Street in Canon City. Call 719-276-7450 to make an appointment.
