Possible COVID-19 outbreak at Charis Christian Center, EPC health officials say

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- El Paso County Public Health is asking people who attend the Charis Christian Center to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms.

Health officials say one parishioner tested positive for the novel coronavirus after attending the church, located at 10285 Federal Drive in Colorado Springs.

The county health department also says more people affiliated with the church are now symptomatic and experiencing illness since July 19.

As of this article's writing, health officials say they have not been able to successfully establish with CCC who or how many individuals are affected, or if they have been tested for COVID-19.

If one more person affiliated with the church tests positive within the same time period as the other confirmed case, then the incident would meet the criteria for an outbreak.

Individuals who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are asked to quarantine themselves and get tested to reduce the spread.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
