DENVER (KRDO) -- Frontier Airlines unveiled its 100th aircraft this week, and if you check out the tail, you'll notice a familiar face to wildlife lovers in southern Colorado.

The livery features Chinook, the gray wolf who was the first rescue that led to the creation of the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide. The wolf-dog is pictured howling with a starry night sky in the background.

Chinook was saved in 1993 by Darlene Kobobel just hours before she was set to be euthanized at a local shelter because of her "wolf-dog hybrid" label. Kobobel started with Chinook in her own home before opening up the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center.

Sadly, Chinook has passed away, but if you squint really hard, you might catch a glimpse of her taxiing down the runway or sailing through the skies.
