Free food giveaway at Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — As COVID-19 presents challenges for families in the Pikes Peak region, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center is taking one thing off their minds by putting something on their plates.
People experiencing food insecurity can go to a free food giveaway drive-thru event Friday. It starts at 11:00 a.m. and will run until the food runs out.
Colorado Springs Food Rescue and Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado are providing the food donations, and the Vets 2 Vets organization is volunteering their time.
The drive-thru will be in the upper parking lot of the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center located at 530 Communication Circle on the west side of Colorado Springs off 8th St.
Another free food giveaway is planned for Friday, August 21.
