1 dead, 1 seriously injured in separate auto-pedestrian crashes in Colorado Springs

UPDATE: The victim of the hit-and-run on North Circle and Galley Road passed away from her injuries on July 23. Police identified her as 20-year-old Olivia Clarke.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- One person is dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Colorado Springs. Another person was seriously injured also on Monday evening in a separate crash within the city.

The first accident happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Circle and Galley Road. Officers say a vehicle driving southbound hit a female pedestrian and then fled the area. Paramedics transported the woman with a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An hour later, police responded to a separate auto-pedestrian crash on the 400 block of West Garden of the Gods Road. Officers say a vehicle driving eastbound struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The Colorado Springs Police Department's Major Crash Team is investigating both incidents. No one has been arrested as of Tuesday morning.
