Deadly crash on Highway 24 in Woodland Park

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KRDO) — One person is dead after a single vehicle crash in Woodland Park on Highway 24 near Walmart, according to Woodland Park Police.

A sergeant with Woodland Park Police told KRDO a man was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene of the crash. The man's identity will be released after the coroner notifies his family.

The crash happened at 3:44 p.m. Saturday. It closed the westbound side of the highway causing a long traffic backup. The road was reopened at 6:30 p.m.
