COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Shanna Halverson's husband proposed to her on Valentine's Day this year. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Halverson and her husband opted to get married at the DMV and plan their wedding for mid-October.

Even though her wedding isn't until this fall, Halverson is navigating wedding planning amid the pandemic. She's already had two of her vendors cancel, and she's concerned that if the travel ban is still in effect, she may have to postpone her wedding. Her parents will be flying in from Germany.

Halverson, however, remains optimistic. She's planning on getting married at Gateway Presbyterian Church, with a wedding reception at Edelweiss German Restaurant, a family-owned German Restaurant on the south side of Colorado Springs.

To deal with navigating wedding planning amid COVID-19, Halverson said she's joined several support Facebook groups with other brides in similar situations. She's found groups like The Quarantined Bride | Colorado to be extremely helpful during this time.
