Bicyclist hurt in collision with car in Colorado Springs


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A bicyclist is recovering, after they were struck by a vehicle in Colorado Springs.

The collision happened just before 1 a.m. Thursday, at the intersection of Fountain Blvd. and S. Chelton Rd. Colorado Springs Police tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that the bicyclist was traveling northbound on Chelton, when they were struck by the vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. At this time the driver is not believed to have been impaired.

  1. Riding a bike on the road with cars is just stupid. It is asking to get hit by a car. At 1am what are the odds one or both were drunk?

    1. Odd are pretty high of at least one, I would say! But anyone riding bike at that time is probably riding home from work, because that’s the only transportation they have. And people riding bikes are legally supposed to ride on the road with cars…
