Missing, endangered girl found

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday night that 16-year-old Elizabeth "Lizzy" McPherson has been found. She was reported missing and endangered on Thursday.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, Elizabeth left her home on Bradshaw Road in Colorado Springs on foot on Thursday around 4 p.m. She was seen Friday being dropped off at a bus station near Wahsatch and Colorado avenues around 7 p.m.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said in an update Sunday that Lizzy was last seen at a Denver bus stop at 1055 19th Street with an unknown male companion. Investigators believed she might have been headed to Texas or Florida.

The release from the sheriff's office said Elizabeth has a cognitive disability, was without her required medications and functions at the level of an 8-year-old.

The sheriff's office spokeswoman said Elizabeth was found in Arvada Sunday night and was safely returned to her family.
