Hundreds gathered at Acacia Park in prayer for racial unity

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Saturday morning, hundreds joined together for a peaceful demonstration for racial healing at Acacia Park. The event began at 10 a.m. as worshippers united through music, dance and faith.

Pastors from several congregations organized the event. The hour-long turnout culminated in prayer and a peaceful walk to City Hall. Pastor Kelly Williams of Vanguard Church says, “By showing love and respect to each other, I think you can begin to heal the brokenness and begin to create to some unity so we can change the things that need to be changed.” 

Gabriel Valle, a Senior Pastor adds, "Today we see different movement. It’s not a riot, it’s a peaceful movement where we call getting together to pray for the healing, for racial healing."
