Fort Carson to conduct loud exercises starting next week

FORT CARSON, Colo. (KRDO) — The Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion, U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command, will conduct noise-generating training throughout the Front Range, northern and southern Colorado regions, according to a release from Fort Carson.

The training will start June 10 and end June 22.

During the training, people can expect increased noise and dust in the evenings and throughout the night, according to the release.

A Fort Carson spokesperson said the training is necessary to qualify rated student pilots and non-rated crew members in multi-mode radar, mountain and desert environments, so the unit is prepared for any potential mission they may be called upon to support around the globe.

Fort Carson will continue to listen to the community and work through any noise issues that may arise, according to the release. “Fort Carson is dedicated to being good neighbors, and will continue to inform the public about training events that may affect surrounding communities,” the release read.

Noise complaints should be directed to the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-9849.
