Colorado City water treatment plants experiencing mechanical failure, consumers asked to conserve water

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A release sent to KRDO Friday is asking customers of Colorado City Metro District Water to conserve water due to a mechanical failure at its water treatment plants.
The district says its experiencing extremely low water storage levels while crews work to resolve the issue. As such, consumers are asked to abide by the following water conservation efforts:
- Limit household use
- No outdoor watering
- Standpipe customers will be limited to 500 gallons per day and the hours for the standpipe will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Those hours of operation for the standpipe are subject to change if supply is depleted.
There isn't currently an estimated time of restoration. In the mean time, customers are warned they may experience low pressure or no water.
Pueblo Water customers are not affected in any way, according to a statement from Pueblo Water officials.
