COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Being married to someone in the military can be difficult for a number of reasons, especially when it comes to finding a job.

According to the Military Spouse Career Coalition, spouses of active-duty military personnel have an unemployment rate of about 24%.

The coalition aims to help military spouses find work. Now it's stepping up its efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Colorado Springs-based organization offers resources like networking groups, job postings and more for military spouses in our community.

The coalition also works with employers on educating them when it comes to the benefits of hiring military spouses.
