The Weather Week Ahead

Tonight: Isolated rain showers are possible this evening in the southern half of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and in Las Animas County. Nothing severe is expected with conditions gradually drying out overnight. Temperatures tonight staying above freezing along the I-25 corridor with increasing clouds early Monday morning.

Monday: Scattered rain showers developing after 9am for the majority of central/southern Colorado as Monday will be the most active weather day this week. Temperatures staying near 10 degrees below average with highs only reaching 58 degrees in Colorado Springs and into the low 60s for HWY 50 residents. Afternoon scattered thunderstorms are likely with Baca/Prowers Counties the most likely places to see a stronger thunderstorm. The main concerns will be small hail, strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and lightning so stay weather aware in Springfield and Lamar.

Extended: Entering into a gradual warming and drying trend through the mid-week forecast with temperatures back into the 70s and 80 with plenty of sunshine till Thursday. Another round of afternoon precipitation is possible on Friday and through the coming weekend.
