Family discovers scammers put house in Colorado Springs up for rent

Rental scam

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A family was shocked to find their home near Dublin and Black Forest was listed for rent on Zillow and Trulia without their knowledge.

Marianne said their home is not for rent and it never was, but it is for sale. That's how she believes these scammers got pictures of her home for their rental listing.

Before she found out her home was being used in a scam, she says many people had stopped by her home and even went as far as entering the home without permission.

While the house is no longer listed, she says one of the victims had submitted a credit application.

Marianne is now worried that there are more victims.
