COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Care and Share Food Bank partnered with the networks of KRDO to raise over $104,000 Thursday. Thank you to our Southern Colorado community for your generosity! You can still donate now. Click here to donate.

Shannon Brice, the food bank's chief operating officer, says several orders have been cancelled or delayed. However, the demand for food is much higher during COVID-19.

“We expect it to have about doubled from what it currently was before the pandemic started," Brice said. "And we are just as committed to doing everything in our power to acquire as much as we possibly can.”

Krista Briggs, a mother of six children, says she goes to the Tri-Lakes Cares food bank in Monument.

“I’m so glad for Tri-Lakes Care and being able to have that service for the community," she said. "It’s such a wonderful thing to just know that they care about us, that they’re there for us, that it’s convenient to just stop by.”

The Care and Share Food Bank provides food for 31 counties across Southern Colorado.
