Man killed in officer-involved shooting in Baca County

BACA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Baca County.

The incident occurred as sheriff's deputies were responding to reports of an armed man in the area of County Rd. 20 and County Rd. PP, northwest of Springfield, just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. At some point during this time the suspect was shot and later pronounced dead.

No deputies were hurt. The suspect has not been identified at this time. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has been requested to take over the investigation.
