COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Crews responded to a call Sunday of someone in need of rescue at one of the city's open space parks.

The 60-year-old man had "a minor fall," and needed to be evacuated from a trail at Pulpit Rock Open Space, said the Colorado Springs Fire Department. CSFD tells us crews had to use specialized equipment to get the man down safely due to the precarious nature of the trail.

The response team also found two therapy dogs who were in the patient's care. Crews took the dogs with their handler to a local hospital.
