Woman killed in overnight crash in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - A woman is dead following an overnight rollover crash in Colorado Springs.
Officers responded to the 3700 block of S. Academy Blvd., around 12:19 a.m. Friday. They discovered that the driver of a black Chevy Silverado was headed southbound lost control and rolled their vehicle several times. The female driver was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. At this time her name has not been released to the public.
The Colorado Springs Police Department's Major Crash Team has taken over the investigation. S. Academy Blvd. was closed for several hours between Drennan and Bradley Roads, but reopened just before 5 a.m. Friday.
This is the third traffic fatality for Springs Police in 2020. At this time last year there was seven.
