Cars line Venetucci Blvd. at 4 a.m. for President Trump’s rally
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- At 4 a.m. Thursday morning, hundreds of cars lined Venetucci Blvd. in Colorado Springs, waiting for the gates to open to the Broadmoor World Arena parking lot.
At 6 a.m., traffic patrollers moved aside cones, allowing people to begin parking and lining up in front of the arena, hours before the arrival of President Trump and the beginning of the 'Keep America Great' rally.
At 9 a.m., traffic patrollers closed the parking lot in front of the Broadmoor World Arena, stating the parking lot was full to capacity. This caused more traffic along Venetucci Blvd. as cars were now diverted to find other areas to park near the arena.
At 12 p.m., Harrison School District 2 let students, faculty and staff leave school early, to accomodate for the heavier traffic expected to last from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., according to authorities.
