Travel Alert: Snow-packed roads and slick conditions Tuesday morning

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Drivers were met with snow-packed roads Tuesday morning.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, Southern Colorado was accident-free throughout the early morning commute hours.

The first crash of the morning happened around 7:20 on I-25 southbound south of Fillmore. There were reports that a light pole may be blocking the merge lane.

Drive times to the Mile High City were longer than normal all of Tuesday morning. There was on-and-off slowing throughout the gap due to the road conditions.

The City of Colorado Springs was placed on accident alert status Monday evening and that continued into Tuesday morning.
