TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - An investigation is underway after a house catches fire in Teller County Monday morning.

Crews were called to the Tranquil Acres area, west of Woodland Park, around 3:40 a.m. When they arrived, deputies observed a house and large patch of grass and debris on fire. Residents nearby were evacuated.

The fire took about two hours to be extinguished. There was one case of minor smoke inhalation, but no serious injuries. However, at least one animal died in the fire.
