Man arrested for Colorado Springs stabbing spree appears in court

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The suspect in the stabbing spree who claimed he was 'Jesus Christ' and injured eight people appeared in an El Paso County courtroom Thursday.

Rene Miller, 38, is charged with six counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of felony menacing, or threatening.

According to Colorado Springs Police, on Jan. 13, Miller went on a stabbing spree near downtown.

Police say Miller would ask his victims if they were Christians before initiating the attacks.
